PCOS Blog Vegetarian

Recently, I started doing research on eating right for my blood type; it was prompted by my sister telling me that a person with blood type A functions better on a vegetarian/vegan diet. Upon initially hearing this I instantly stated there was NO way I could possibly give up eating MEAT! After all I eat organic meat, so how bad could it really be?

Well, the simple truth of it, is by eating meat my body can’t process it correctly, but rather stores it as fat. Eating inadequate foods for your specific blood type prohibits the body from being able to fight off diseases and function properly.

Last year, I considered adopting a vegetarian diet after watching Food, Inc. I just didn’t have enough will-power or common sense to notice ALL of the benefits of going meat-less, especially for someone with an A blood type. Had I had ALL the information I have now about the countless benefits of adopting a vegetarian lifestyle for someone with my blood type; I would have adopted this healthy way of eating sooner.

I’ve been meat, egg, cheese, and yogurt free for three weeks. If you asked me a month ago what my favorite food was; I would have told you yogurt I couldn’t possibly live without it. Well, I have been living without it, just fine! I’ve definitely impressed myself as I never thought I could go without meat and dairy. I really don’t miss it. I feel much better with more energy and I’ve also lost a few pounds!

Another benefit of eating the right foods for your blood type is that for someone that has a very sensitive digestion system by eating the right foods for your body, you’ll have more energy and possibly weight loss. Women with PCOS are very sensitive to toxins, chemicals, hormones, etc. I had eaten meat all of my life; my body viewed the meat as a toxin, so it was stored as fat.

So, my question to the woman that read this blog is what blood type are you? If you don’t know call your doctor’s office and ask them; if for some reason they don’t have that information get tested. As it could greatly impact your health! I’m in the beginning stages of researching the correlation between blood type, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and miscarriages. I’d like to know your blood type as it would help in the research process!
