PCOS Blog Post: Exercise

November 9, 2009

This morning, as I was running on the treadmill I ran faster and harder as I was listening to Eye of the Tiger. I think it's a great song to work out to. I really felt like I was going somewhere. Training for an unbelievable event like the Olympics. I never use to be a person that enjoyed running. I guess I still wouldn't say that I love it, but I do enjoy it. It's also great exercise. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment after I've finished, maybe that's what people mean by a runner's high.

Exercise is essential to your overall health. If you need to lose weight it will help you reach that goal! If you're at your ideal weight it makes maintaining it easier. It helps to regulate your blood glucose and insulin levels as well. Countless more benefits exist to exercising.

I like to exercise in the morning before work, before other plans in the evening can get in your way. It's so easy for a friend to call or want to do something after work and equally as easy to say yes and think to yourself I'll exercise tomorrow. I'm not sure about you, but if I've had a rough day at work a lot of times the last thing I feel like doing is going to the gym.

For me if I get off the bandwagon it's so difficult to get back on. That's why I prefer just staying on my morning exercise kick. Initially, it can be hard to adjust to getting up early and exercising; but can really be a great start to your day. I have more energy throughout the day and am in a better mood.

Find some tunes to workout to and get moving! You'll notice a big difference.
