PCOS Blog: Summer Update!

August 25, 2010

I’ve had such a busy, exciting summer that time has unfortunately slipped away quickly, therefore, I haven’t been blogging as much as I wanted to (or really at all). I do apologize. I have so much information I want to share with you, including lots of new recipes along with research from articles and books I’ve read. In the next two months you can expect many of the countless half written blog posts and ideas to be posted.

A lot of changes have taken place over the past two or three months which is really exciting, I’ve moved, I’m riding around town on a green Schwinn cruiser bike which is great for trips to the bookstore, grocery store or coffee shop. Many of you may know that I’ve always enjoyed road and mountain biking, but cruising around town this summer has been really fun. While, on my bike I feel I’m doing my part to promote a healthier and greener lifestyle.

I’ve started canning some tomatoes and have plans in the next couple of weeks to do some other fruits and vegetables. I bought two bushels of tomatoes from a local farm for $16 per bushel (that’s A LOT of tomatoes). It’s quite an easy process. I find it enjoyable and rewarding. I like knowing that I’m supporting the local economy and small farms while getting better tasting, fresher tomatoes, without the additives and preservatives from a store bought can at a much more reasonable price.

I hope you’re enjoying the excellent summer weather hopefully along with lots of farm fresh fruits and vegetables!!
