PCOS Blog Post: Why Organic?

April 12, 2010

I can't emphasize enough the importance of eating ORGANIC. I realize the change isn't something that will happen instantly; it will be a gradual process, but one that I highly recommend. I realize eating organic costs more, but really how much more? Is it worth your health? Is it worth your happiness? Will you spend more in the long run on doctor's visits, laboratory tests, etc.?

Being physically healthy is priceless; by eating organic you are contributing to your overall health and well-being. I highly encourage those of you who don't eat organic meat and diary products to do so immediately!

Think about this: if you are eating dairy or meat products that are not organic then you are also eating the chemicals, drugs and growth hormones given to the animals.

It's really that simple for me, I know my body is sensitive enough to my own hormones. I don't need any other hormones or chemicals that could inhibit my body's essential functions. Do you?

There are countless other benefits to eating organic, that is just the one that makes eating organic a no questions asked decision.

Have you ever compared an organic, farm-fresh egg from a free-range chicken to an egg that came from a mass chicken farm where they live in tiny cages all day? You can taste the difference and it's noticeable on your plate.

By eating organic you will have more energy because your body isn't full of chemicals and toxins found in typical food that slows you down.

I know I wouldn't feel as great as I do today if it wasn't for my healthy, organic diet. YES, there is a difference between eating wholesome, organic yogurt or eating a yogurt filled with chemicals, preservatives, and unnecessary sugar.

If you can't read the ingredients on the label, you should put it back on the shelf!

I will make sacrifices in other areas of my life to make sure the food I consume is wholesome and organic!
