PCOS Blog Post: Looking, Listening, Feeling

February 21, 2010

I met a friend yesterday afternoon for tea, she immediately commented on how fantastic I looked! She then preceded to ask if I had a facial, because my skin was so radiant. I kindly replied, no, but that I was just coming from acupuncture. That turned into how much I truly love and respect my acupuncturist.

My acupuncturist knows me very well, he always surprises me when he says something like, "So, you've been having trouble with your digestion again."

Still to my amazement, I always wonder how does he know this. I've barely been on his table for thirty seconds. He reminds me all the time, that it's his job, it's why he has all of his training, it's what he's good at.

Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnoses a patient by looking, listening, and feeling. Those are the tests in TCM that have been used for thousands of years. It's one of the many reasons why I believe in the benefits of acupuncture and herbs.

It's a very comprehensive approach to improving your overall health and well-being. After, I finished going on about how amazing my appointment was. My friend said, she really wished she had the guts to try it.

I will tell you exactly what I told her. It doesn't hurt, it's a tiny needle, everyone has this idea that the needles are like those that are used to draw blood. No they aren't like that at ALL.

If you let all your fears stop you, where would you be? It doesn't hurt. You'll actually feel amazing after each and every visit! Just give it a try!
