Improving Fertility

Improving fertility may seem like a daunting task, but if you approach improving your fertility with the right mind set it won't seem like a chore. Today, more couples are having difficulty conceiving; if you look around what has changed in our diet and lifestyle from thirty years ago.

We are busier, we eat more unhealthy foods filled with hormones, additives, and preservatives. We are probably under more stress from our busy go-go lifestyles. We consume too much caffeine and alcohol. So, considering all of those factors it isn't surprising that more couples have difficulty conceiving.

So, what can you and your partner do?

1. Make sure you and your partner maintain a healthy weight. A healthy weight promotes balance in your body, your hormones are balanced which is essential for getting pregnant.

2. Eat a healthy balanced diet, eliminate excessive amounts of alcohol, caffeine, refined sugar, and nicotine. Also, try to consume as much organic, whole food as possible.

3. Get regular, moderate exercise nothing to intense that it will cause you not to have your regular monthly period. Walking, biking, yoga, Pilates are all excellent options.

4. Determine when your ovulating by tracking your basal body temperature on a daily basis. You can also check your cervical mucus.

5. Make sure to take a daily multi-vitamin.

6. Consider using herbs to restore any function in the body that isn't working properly.

7. Be patient do not get stressed out. I realize this is easier said than done, but be patient give yourself time.

8. Consider seeing a doctor, acupuncturist or other health care professional to assist you in improving fertility.
