Clomid

Clomid a, fertility drug, is often prescribed to treat infertility in women. It’s intended to help a woman ovulate. In order for a woman to become pregnant she must ovulate, so an egg can be released.

Often, it's taken for one, five day period in your cycle. If you don't have a regular period, you'll have to take another drug, Provera which will cause menstruation. Then, Clomiphene can be taken to promote ovulation. It can take anywhere from three to six cycles before you will ovulate. It is not suppose to be taken for more than six, continuous cycles.

A side effect of this fertility drug along with many others is that it decreases the quality of cervical mucus, which sperm needs to reach the egg, so that fertilization is possible. Without quality cervical mucus it makes conception more difficult.

Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome are often Insulin Resistance; this means you could also be resistance to fertility drugs.

Consequently, possibly decreasing your likelihood of conceiving. If a women's body mass index is greater than 25 it also decreases her chances of conceiving naturally.
