About Me - A Woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
This site is about sharing with you the knowledge I have gained first-hand about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) over the past several years. Upon my initial diagnosis and still today I find it difficult to find quality, alternative information about PCOS that's easy to understand.
While, I am not a physician or other medical professional I am a woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome that wants to live a happy, healthy life with the energy to do so! I've put countless hours into researching the best PCOS treatment options.
Finding the best answers and treatments took a lot of failed attempts, disappointment, and set backs; but I am better off because of it.
Therefore, it's my goal in creating this site, that you will find the answers and cures you're looking for in treating and managing your Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. You've probably already noticed that I'm an advocate for alternative treatment options as I believe these truly work to heal the cause of the problem (or symptom) instead of just prescribing a drug to mask your symptoms.
For example, a physician can prescribe Metformin to assist in PCOS weight loss, however, if you don't change your eating habits once you stop taking Metformin you'll more than likely gain some, if not all, of the weight back you lost.
The most important aspect of my continued success has been nutrition, healthy eating is the foundation for a happy life (regardless of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or not) followed very closely by daily exercise and proper stress management.
I hope to inspire you that winning the battle against Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is absolutely possible.
I want to be a resource for PCOS treatment options, leading a healthy lifestyle, trying to conceive and answer any other questions you may have.
In my free time, you'll find me skiing, snowshoeing, bike riding or at a yoga class. I love the outdoors and the sunshine. In the summertime there isn't a better place than being on the water.
I find joy in cooking wholesome, hearty food, but rarely follow recipes. That makes my intentions of sharing recipes with you a little more difficult. I come from a large family which brings a smile to my face and a chuckle every time I tell someone I have 20 cousins and counting. It's my genuine belief and recent passion to continue to make my life more ORGANIC. Such as eliminating harsh household cleaners and replacing them with inexpensive, home-made options.
I'm creating this site in my spare time. So, please be patient if you feel it's missing something let me know. If you’d like to share any of your questions or concerns, please contact me. I continue to add information on a regular basis, so I hope you will check back often!
